Phoenix Park

Phoenix Park is considered the largest urban park in Europe and among the largest urban parks in the world. It is well known for its location in of the home of the President of Ireland.

The park play a significant role in providing traffic-choked cities. It was originally established as a Royal deer park in the 17th century. 

The Park is used for numerous reason like; walkers and sports enthusiasts who flock here to enjoy the park's facilities, walking paths, Picnic and to have fun and it also offers peace and quiet from the buzz of the city.

The park also holds over two thousand sporting and recreational events annually. Events such as; sporting events are an important feature of the Park. These include: - national and international athletics is including duathlons, triathlons, cross-country events, cycling events and community sports days. Many community groups benefit of the park and hold various sports day and community days.

When planning to organize an event permission is required for all events and where relevant an event Safety Management Plan is sought. Events with over five thousand participants also require planning permission from the local regulatory authority.  Appropriate film, television, and photo shoots are allowed under permit from the Park Superintendent.

In the summer it can get crowded here with people walking, running, jogging, cycling and roller skating. Within the park you can find numerous other attractions; one of the most popular is Dublin Zoo.
